Job Summary
As a vital member of our wardrobe team, you will work under the direction of the Wardrobe Manager to ensure our performers look their absolute best—on time, every time. In this fast-paced, high-energy event setting, you’ll be responsible for the seamless management, maintenance, and distribution of costumes and accessories. Your keen eye for detail, organizational prowess, and ability to thrive under pressure will help guarantee that every performer hits the stage in flawless style. You’ll play a hands-on role in prepping, fitting, and supporting quick changes, using an 8-point checklist to ensure every look meets our exacting standards before showtime.
Key Responsibilities
Costume Management
- Efficient Setup: Prepare and organize the wardrobe area for maximum speed and accessibility, ensuring all costumes and accessories are show-ready.
- Assignment & Tracking: Assign, document, and recollect wardrobe items according to approved designs, maintaining precise records for each performer.
- Fittings: Fit performers with costumes tailored to their body shape and size, ensuring comfort and visual impact.
- Quality Control: Conduct a final inspection of each look using the 8-point checklist to guarantee every detail is perfect before deployment.
Maintenance and Repair
- Damage Assessment: Inspect costumes for wear and tear, applying immediate solutions to keep every piece stage-ready.
- Repairs & Alterations: Perform timely repairs, alterations, and adjustments as needed, often under tight time constraints.
- Cleaning: Prepare and refresh wardrobe items for each show run, ensuring cleanliness and presentation.
- Ongoing Upkeep: Maintain costumes, footwear, props, and accessories throughout the event to uphold the highest standards.
Inventory and Organization
- Receiving & Logging: Coordinate the intake, inspection, and documentation of all employee uniforms and costume pieces.
- Laundering Logistics: Pack soiled costumes for cleaning and efficiently process clean returns for immediate use.
- Rotation & Documentation: Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in rotating duties as directed by the Wardrobe Manager.
Performance Support
- Quick Changes: Assist performers with rapid costume changes and styling during shows, ensuring zero delays.
- Backstage Assistance: Work closely with performers during show runs, rehearsals, and preparations, providing hands-on support.
- Appearance Feedback: Offer constructive feedback on personal appearance and recommend grooming adjustments when necessary.
Safety and Cleanliness
- Workplace Safety: Adhere to all established safety protocols to maintain a secure backstage environment.
- Post-Show Reset: Ensure thorough clean-up, repacking, and organized storage of all wardrobe items after each performance.
