Summary

Under the supervision of the Vice President of HR, the Senior Generalist provides professional human resources services and consultation. Assists in the day-to-day answering of general employee questions and concerns. Works closely with other team members to ensure the accurate, confidential delivery of services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Handles employee concerns and grievances 
  • Oversees the company safety program
  • Oversees and maintains the LMS
  • Oversees the workers’ compensation process from initial claims, monitors return to work statuses, to timely communication with employees, vendors, and managers
  • Maintains human resource information system (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database
  • Prepares written responses to subpoenas and other legal inquiries, as needed
  • Conducts exit interviews and compiles data for review
  • Ensures that all required regulatory postings are in place and current at all adopted central work stations
  • Represents the company at unemployment appeal hearings
  • Ensures personnel files are maintained according to standards set by the Company and regulatory bodies. Ensure that regular spot audits are performed quarterly to maintain compliance
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources field, or  human resources certification preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, computer programs, and basic office procedures
  • Prior experience working with an HRIS system
  • Excellent verbal and written skills 
  • Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing

Physical Requirements

In the course of performing this job, the incumbent must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. Frequent sitting, twisting, typing, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional walking, standing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing and reaching.
