Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Westfalia seeks a skilled Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence expert. The role focuses on leveraging emerging AI technologies to optimize internal and customer processes for enhanced productivity and functionality. The ideal candidate will have experience integrating AI and Machine learning into existing business processes with a strong ability to architect, teach and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

 

Job Functions:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of up-to-date AI technology.
  • Evangelize the use of AI within the company where appropriate.
  • Deliver incremental, real-world solutions which create tangible results.
  • Track improvements and share success stories with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with application engineers, mechanical engineers, control systems specialists, and software developers to align AI solutions with operational requirements.
  • Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation for models, integration processes, and system performance metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor deployed systems, analyze performance, and iterate on models to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Report status of projects concisely and accurately to project stakeholders.
  • Protect confidential and proprietary information.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Keras for building and deploying ML models.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing algorithms such as supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning (e.g., neural networks), reinforcement learning, or natural language processing (NLP).
  • Strong coding skills in languages like Python, R, C#, or Java
  • Familiarity with tools like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka for processing and analyzing large-scale data in AI applications.
  • Utilize efficient information analysis on large datasets, including data cleaning, feature engineering, and working with tools like Pandas, NumPy, or SQL.
  • Possess a driven work ethic for independent work with minimal supervision.
  • Use tools like Azure DevOps for version control, issue tracking, and collaboration.
  • Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
