Position Summary
The Grants Manager plays a critical role in advancing Penfield Children’s Center’s mission by identifying, cultivating, and securing funding opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government entities. This position requires exceptional skills in research, writing, and data management, as well as the ability to steward relationships with funders and ensure compliance with grant requirements. The Grants Manager will oversee the grant lifecycle, from prospect research and proposal development to reporting and renewal and will manage the Grant & Advocacy Specialist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
	- Research and identify new foundations, corporate, and government funding opportunities aligned with Penfield’s mission and goals.
 
	- Maintain a proactive pipeline of prospective funders and monitor funding trends.
 
	- Partner with program staff and leadership to conceptualize and secure funding for new and existing initiatives.
 
	- Lead development of letters of intent, proposals, and grant applications that clearly communicate impact and outcomes.
 
	- Oversee the full grant lifecycle, ensuring timely submission, compliance, and fulfillment of all requirements.
 
	- Collaborate with finance and program teams to develop budgets, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with grant terms.
 
	- Maintain accurate grant data to support KPI dashboards, strategic decisions, and audit readiness.
 
	- Develop efficient grant processes and reporting systems that ensure organizational alignment.
 
	- Track outcomes and metrics for funder reporting; provide regular updates to leadership on performance and pipeline.
 
	- Cultivate and steward strong relationships with grant makers; represent Penfield at meetings, site visits, and events.
 
Leadership & Team Management
	- Supervise and mentor the Grant & Advocacy Specialist.
 
	- Provide leadership in grant management with the best practices and serve as an internal subject matter expert on foundation and government funding.
 
 
Project Management & Cross Department Collaboration
	- Lead and coordinate grant-related projects, working closely with program and department leads.
 
	- Develop timelines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress on grant initiatives.
 
	- Facilitate communication across departments to ensure financial and programmatic goals are met.
 
	- Identify risks in grant execution and develop proactive solutions.
