Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Purpose:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions of Saint Viator High School. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective financial management, all in alignment with the mission and values of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and school policies.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, including reconciliations of accounts.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget, providing insights and analyses to support financial planning.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and working with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit experience.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as diocesan financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance.
