Employment Type: Full Time | Monday - Friday, 8a-3p
Pay Rate: $11/hr+
Location: Topeka, KS

As a Meals on Wheels Service Delivery Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering not only nutritious meals but also daily human connection and peace of mind to those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload meals for distribution ensuring proper handling and food safety standards
  • Support volunteers and staff with delivery logistics and route preparation
  • Ensure accurate quality counts of all daily Meals on Wheels (MOW) meals and verify hot and cold food items in all pickup bags before they leave the kitchen

Qualifications

Required: Minimum education requirement of high school graduation or equivalent GED. Capacity to communicate with people representing vast differences of professional, cultural, social and economic backgrounds and ages. Ability to keep records and prepare reports. Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s License, in force automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy.

Physical Demands: Work involves standing and walking. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods, and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels. Work will include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds such as meal carriers, files, and client gifts.
