The Jamestown Family Health Clinic (JFHC)Â is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital, full-time role, you will be an essential part of providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our community. You will work directly with our physicians, ARNPs, and PAs, serving as their right hand in a fast-paced, professional clinic environment. This position is perfect for a detail-oriented, proactive, and caring individual who thrives on making a tangible difference in people's lives. Your contributions will directly support our clinic's mission to provide comprehensive and accessible healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Clinical Support: Provide all services as described in the American Association of Medical Assistants Occupational Analysis (AAMA) and skill sets. This includes rooming patients, accurately obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient history, and chief complaints.

Administrative and Medical Records Management: Maintain medical records with precision, including scanning, recording, and updating patient information. You'll also be responsible for processing orders, managing prescription requests, and handling pre-certifications or authorizations for medications and procedures.

Billing and Follow-Up: Record patient charges for electronic billing and assist providers by gathering necessary patient information for follow-up care.

Lab and Diagnostics Coordination: Prepare patients for laboratory and radiology procedures, manage the results of these reports as directed by the provider, and schedule diagnostic tests and referrals as needed.

Clinical Procedures: Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, perform a variety of clinical procedures such as EKGs, ear lavages, WAIVED lab tests, venipuncture, and wound dressings.

Medication Administration: Administer IM, Sub-Q, and nasal medications and immunizations as ordered by a licensed provider.

Communication and Collaboration: Inform, advise, and make suggestions to your supervisor about ways to improve clinic policies and procedures. You will also develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with outside federal, state, and private agencies.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations following established protocols.

Facility and Supply Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including exam rooms, supplies, medications, and immunizations to ensure a smooth workflow.

Professional Conduct: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, and management. You are expected to document work processes, participate in clinic meetings, and maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Compliance and Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to all JST and JFHC policies and procedures, including safety standards and HIPAA guidelines, to ensure patient confidentiality and a safe work environment.
What are the qualifications for this position:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Successful completion of a 1-2 year (4-6 quarter) accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Current Washington State Health Care Assistant certification of MA-C.

Basic First Aid/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Solid knowledge of medication administration procedures and processes.
-
Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures and billing processes.

Proficiency in medical terminology.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.

Basic computer knowledge.
-
A valid Driver’s License.
-
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
