POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Senior Childcare Billing Specialist or his/her designee, the Childcare Billing Specialist will be responsible for the utilization and documentation of all children placed on the association’s EEC contracted slots.  The Childcare Billing Specialist will also assist in accounts receivable for childcare accounts, childcare billing, childcare reassessments for vouchers and financial aid, proper documentation for intake files following EEC and MASS DOE guidelines, processing of cash receipts and reconciliations, and data entry. Staff will help champion a culture of service excellence and support and advocate the mission and values of the YMCA.

Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain full utilization for all EEC Contracted slots.
  • Intake and process proper documented files according to EEC guidelines for all EEC contracted slots.
  • Maintain and collect co-pay on all childcare accounts.
  • Process monthly childcare billings.
  • Assist in childcare reassessments for vouchers and financial aid childcare participants.
  • Assist in collection for forms for Mass DOE Food Program
  • Assist in processing and reviewing posting of childcare payments.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be periodically assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Work professionally and ethically with all external clients.
  • Conduct personal and professional behavior in a manner consistent with the best interest of the Association, so as not to bring discredit to the Association.
  • Cooperate; work effectively and congenially with all MVYMCA staff members, volunteers and members / clients of the Association.
  • Provide leadership and in the Activate America initiative
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Provides leadership and support of Annual Campaign that results in achievement of our annual fund-raising goal.

 

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:

  • This position has a primary impact on the overall reporting of the financial status of the Association. Properly maintained books and records expedite annual audits by outside auditors. The effect of the end result of this position is the accurate reporting of the financial status of the Merrimack Valley YMCA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or four years of Bookkeeping experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Must be a team player with good organization and communication skills and a detailed work habit. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must have good vision.
