Your Role

As our VP of Development and Community Engagement, you’ll:

• Lead comprehensive fundraising strategies to support Kerr’s mission and achieve bold revenue goals
• Personally steward relationships with major donors, securing gifts of $50,000+
• Mentor a dynamic team of development professionals and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability
• Oversee grants, planned giving, appeals, campaigns, and signature events
• Drive community engagement and volunteer initiatives that amplify impact and visibility
• Collaborate with executive leadership and the Governing and Foundation Board members to cultivate lasting partnerships
• Champion clear, compelling communication across donor and community channels

What You Bring

• 7–10 years of progressive leadership in nonprofit development, with proven success in major gift fundraising
• Deep familiarity with fundraising best practices, CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce), and donor stewardship strategies
• Ability to galvanize donors, staff, board members, and community stakeholders around a shared vision
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree or CFRE a plus)

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, development management or other closely related discipline required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive fundraising and leadership experience, preferably in human services or nonprofit sectors.
• A passion for the mission of Albertina Kerr and its values
• Proven track record of securing major gifts and managing donor pipelines.
• Experience with donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, DonorPerfect) to track, analyze, and optimize fundraising performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with boards and senior leadership on fundraising strategy.
• Ability to meet all background check, reference, and/or credentialing requirements
