Sanitation Lead

Schedule: shift starting at 1 p.m. 

Areas of Responsibility: Tier 1 

  • Lead by example with a can-do attitude to work hands-on with sanitation technicians to clean and sanitize all facility equipment and production areas plus common areas (i.e. bathrooms, break rooms, hallways, stairwells, etc.) following a set schedule  

  • Train sanitation technicians on proper cleaning and sanitation methods and chemical uses. 

  • Strict adherence to Company SSOPs and procedures on the proper ways to clean and sanitize.  

  • Ensure that the entire facility is thoroughly and efficiently cleaned in accordance with the set schedule and that employee shifts are productively managed. 

  • Clean quickly and effectively as directed using Company approved and provided materials and tools. 

  • Must be able to work in tight quarters and hard-to-reach areas, such as undergrowing lines, etc.  

  • Work safely and ensure that the sanitation team is working in a safe manner and following company safety policies and procedures.  

  • Must wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and routine checks that the team is wearing task specific PPE. 

  • Provide ideas to improve efficiency and cleaning practices to Supervisor. 

  • Other duties as assigned to support Operations. 

Areas of Responsibility: Tier 2 

  • Meets eligibility requirements (e.g. time with company and no outstanding disciplinary actions) 

  • Satisfactorily complete all of Tier 1 responsibilities in accord with company standard operating procedures.  

  • In-depth understanding of food safety programs and chemical usage and able to train others in this program. 

  • Leads the sanitation team and is the first point of contact for task specific questions before escalating to APM 

  • Report & recommend remedial actions to address GMP, food safety, workplace safety/OSHA violations before addressing with employee, except on approved areas (top 10 checklist) 

Areas of Responsibility: Tier 3 

  • Meets eligibility requirements (e.g. time with company and no outstanding disciplinary actions) 

  • Satisfactorily complete all of Tier 2 responsibilities in accord with company standard operating procedures 

  • Completes all weekly sign-off sheets  

  • Communicate employee break times and/or shift schedule changes to meet production schedule changes and minimize downtime. 

  • Enforce all GMPs, food safety policies, and workplace safety/OSHA violations to maintain a safe and productive work environment and summarize with APM at end of day. 

  • Identifies areas that need attention and proactively addresses attention areas while making recommendations to adjust frequency of schedule. 

Qualifications: All Tiers  

  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task 

  • Desire to grow and learn food safety rules and regulations 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 

  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift. 

  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.A.
