Responsibilities:
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
- Perform oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections and tire repairs.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Perform diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
- Test all systems or components ensuring they are secure and working properly.
- Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the maintenance issue.
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
- Prevent maintenance as it relates to repairing or replacing worn parts.
- Follow a checklist to ensure that each critical part of the vehicle is examined.
- Watch or inspect parts such as: like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items.
- Use power tools, machine tools and common hand tools.
- Review work orders and discuss with the supervisor.
- Inspect motor in operation, road test vehicles and test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine, drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling, climate control, and electrical and electronic systems.
