POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you passionate about storytelling through social media? Do you live and breathe content, from TikTok trends to creative product storytelling, and want to help build one of the most beloved running sock brands in the world?

Balega is seeking a Social Media Content Creator to concept, shoot, edit, and publish compelling content that inspires our running community and authentically represents our brand. The ideal candidate is equal parts creator and community member, someone who knows what resonates with runners, keeps a pulse on social trends, and loves to bring ideas to life through visual storytelling.

This role will partner closely with the Social Media Manager and brand marketing teams to create both planned and quick-turn social content, with a focus on building brand love, authenticity, and relevance across social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:

  • Capture, edit, and publish social-first content (photo and video) that brings Balega’s brand, product offerings and community to life.
  • Develop a rapid content workflow to identify trends, concept creative ideas, and publish high-performing social content quickly.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Integrated Content and Communications Manager to align content with the editorial calendar, annual campaigns, and product priorities.
  • Ensure all social content reflects Balega’s visual identity, tone and brand values.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to continuously evolve content strategy and execution.

 

Primary Responsibilities:       

Content Creation

  • Concept, film, and edit social-first content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LIVE.
  • Manage both long-term content capture (aligned to monthly calendars) and quick-turn reactive content (within 24–48 hours of trend spotting).
  • Create content that authentically highlights Balega products, competitive advantages, and community stories.
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence and support community engagement by responding to comments, DMs, and tags, when appropriate.

Trendspotting and Ideation

  • Monitor daily social trends and cultural moments relevant to the running community.
  • Pitch fresh, relevant ideas that blend social trends with Balega’s key stories and values.
  • Experiment with new content formats, storytelling approaches, and creative tools to drive engagement.

Brand Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager, creative, and marketing teams to plan content around seasonal campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Balega’s market segment, product philosophy and competitive advantages to help position Balega as a viable and desired choice amongst consumers.
  • Serve as an authentic voice of the brand by staying connected to the running and fitness community, ideally as a runner or active participant.
  • Collaborate with the Influencer Marketing team to spotlight real athletes and community stories.
  • Maintain strong brand consistency across all content while keeping execution fresh and relevant.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Meta) and short-form video best practices.
  • Skilled in shooting and editing video content using mobile or digital camera tools and editing apps (CapCut, Premiere Rush, etc.).
  • Passion for authentic, community-driven storytelling.
  • Comfortable being on camera while representing the brand.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, trend-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.

Desired Skills and Experience:      

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media content creation, preferably in consumer, lifestyle, or athletic brands.
  • Experience with influencer or ambassador programs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with running, fitness, or wellness communities is strongly preferred.
  • Photography or videography experience (professional or self-taught) is highly valued.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred.
