Position Title: Intraoperative Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
The interoperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes during the intraoperative phase of perioperative care. The RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the OR team to deliver high quality, evidence-based care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares the operating room with necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments.
- Maintains a sterile field and adheres to all aseptic techniques.
- Monitors the patient’s condition throughout the surgical procedure, including vital signs and overall well-being.
- Serves as a circulating nurse, facilitating communication between the surgical team and other departments.
- Documents all intraoperative activities and patient responses accurately and timely.
- Ensures compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Responds to emergencies and rapidly changing situations in the OR.
- Supports patients emotionally and physically in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Â Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically demanding, high-stress environment
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
- Manual and finger dexterity
- Hand and eye coordination
- Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions
- Working irregular hours including after hours
