Position Summary:

The Public Relations and Communications Specialist is responsible for enhancing brand awareness and equity for COLA products and services among external audiences through the strategic execution of high-impact public relations and communication campaigns.  They also manage all COLA websites, assist with social media tactics, create blog posts, develop videos and design creative marketing materials like sales sheets, ads, email campaigns and other collateral that generates engagement and leads.  The Public Relations and Communication Specialist will be responsible for tracking, reporting and submitting recommendations to improve efforts. 

Essential Functions:

  • Implement tactics to increase COLA's brand visibility, including managing COLA's public relations efforts (ie drafting and editing media releases) and coordinating media inquiries with executive representatives
  • Track and report COLA’s PR activities and media presence in industry publications
  • Manage and oversee the production of marketing materials across different mediums, including digital, print and video, while ensuring consistency in the brand's message
  • Perform research and collaborate with COLA’s subject-matter experts to write key strategic copy for social posts, email and other marketing materials
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Team to develop materials, presentations and proposals that support organizational goals and objectives
  • Execute event management activities including coordinating exhibitor registration, coordinating shipping arrangements, ordering promotional materials and tracking inventory
  • Edit and produce podcast
  • Post all approved social media posts to each platform
  • Serve as an administrator to all COLA websites including COLA.org, LabTestingMatters, GiveBack365, MyConsultantCentral, etc. Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and activities using analytics tools such as HubSpot, LinkedIn and Google Analytics
  • Capture and edit photographs at various company events to help promote the organization and its brand
  • Draft and deploy COLA’s Monday emails to all staff, to keep them informed of COLA news and initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with marketing and advertising trends, best practices and platforms to continually optimize COLA's marketing efforts
  • Serve as a back-up for the administrator to COLA Virtual HQ intranet site

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Four year college degree required.
  • Educational background and experience in the Public Relations and Communications fields.
  • Demonstrated fluency in social media communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience (internships counted towards experience).
  • Excellent technical computer skills and understanding
  • Knowledge and understanding of Social Media Platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of PR best practices
  • Competency in website management platforms such as WordPress
  • Email Marketing platforms such as MailChimp and Constant Contact
  • Preferred. Experience with basic HTML manipulation
  • Preferred. Experience with Google Analytics
  • Preferred. Experience with developing multimedia (editing videos and graphics)
  • Preferred. Past experience in healthcare
