Description

The Implant Technician is responsible for reading the Rx, following work instructions, and maintaining department quality established by DDS Lab. The Implant Technician ensures completed implant restorations meet practitioner specifications by adhering to functionality. This position will utilize implant product knowledge gained through on the job training to inspect single unit custom abutment cases.

Responsibilities

  • Read specifications, prescriptions and examine impressions or models to determine the design of dental products to be developed
  • Possess the ability to differentiate between implant systems, identify compatible systems and contraindications for materials.
  • Understanding path of insertion and emergence profile.
  • Anodize abutments as required.
  • Ability to select correct implant packages and products.
  • Proficient with DDS case management systems.
  • Correctly enter a case that includes package pricing and DDS product codes.
  • Handle out of production cases after resolution.

Qualifications

  • Maintain only the highest degree of professionalism and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate computer typing skills.
  • Recognize locator treatment plans.
  • Strong spatial ability, good eye hand coordination, excellent perception skills and superior attention to details.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate a specific issue or solution to a problem.
  • Ability to convey concerns and return work to individuals with diplomacy and clarity.
  • Dependable and reliable; willing to take on needed duties to fulfill the goals of this operation and take responsibility for actions.

Special Position Requirements

  • Previous dental experience in a lab or dental office is preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
