The Lincoln Center (TLC), established in 1970 by a behavioral health hospital and incorporated in
1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is an entrepreneurial social enterprise dedicated to transforming
lives and communities—one moment, one choice, one connection at a time. Headquartered in
Pennsylvania, TLC operates across multiple states, delivering K-12 alternative education,
comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, coaching, counseling, and trauma-informed
training. TLC also partners with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and
other nonprofit organizations, providing consultation to secure federal and state grant funding.
Position Summary: The Educational Director leads the growth of our students and education
programming. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and collaborative spirit, and be a
great motivator and supervisor working with staff on program and curriculum development, school and
community outreach, and classroom and group management. He/she will be responsible for overall
program development, administration, and supervision of the all education programs. The Educational
Director will supervise a full-time High School and/or Middle School Program, full- time educators
and counselors, interns, and consultants hired for the program.
He/she will be a key liaison between administration and staff at the school, the sending districts,
the Pennsylvania Department of Education, students, parents, and community partners.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for direct service for the Program including, individual and group
counseling/therapy, and oversight of classroom, as needed
• Oversight of the online grading system, overall Positive Behavioral Support Plan (PBSP), website,
etc.
• Oversee the development and execution of educational programming and curriculum content
consistent with mission and program goals
• Ensure the development of appropriate curriculum plans. Foster the educational experience via
hands-on developmentally appropriate and highly interactive methods, which are also consistent with
PA academic standards.
• Develop procedures and policies for safe and effective operation of the overall program,
including monthly fire drills
• Hire and supervise educators and counselors, and consultants for the Program
• Provide performance evaluation and feedback for all positions within the program
• Orient and train staff to program, highlighting process and learning opportunities. Plan and lead
regular meetings with staff.
• Develop or coordinate professional development and curriculum support workshops opportunities for
staff on best practices in education and out-of-school time programming
• Be available to facilitate activities with youth participants, build relationships, and provide
referrals and support
• Be responsible for reviewing all student referrals and facilitating the admission
process
• Design a plan for staffing and implementation of the programs
• Approve requests for expenditures for the budget
• Be responsible for the submission of reports in a timely manner to respective entities providing
grants or contracts
• Supervise and provide administrative guidance to the whole staff
• Provide administrative intervention with other agencies at the Director level concerning problems
or issues of programs
• Provide liaison with other agencies at the Director level including school districts and
interagency cooperation
• Establish a system for evaluating programs and content to measure satisfaction and
effectiveness
• Establish performance standards for all personnel to assure that contractual service objectives
are attained
• Ensure performance targets are met
• Develop and maintain records needed for program administration
• Monitor program budget, provide needed information for financial reporting
• Facilitate partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to
students and families to broaden the impact and reach of services and help position as a community
resource. Participate on local and state committees or meetings related to programs, as necessary.

Work Environment: This job operates in an alternative school environment.
Hours of Work: This is a 43-week full-time position
Travel: Travel is occasional, such as chaperoning student class day trips. Overnight travel may be
necessary to attend conferences or seminars.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or a related field and at least five years’
experience in a management position. PA Principal Certification and/or valid teaching certificate.
Experience with trauma treatment addressing issues of youth. Experience in the design,
implementation and budgeting of programs, with
grant writing experience as an additional asset. Supervisory experience and
knowledge of professional ethics and standards of conduct.
