Job Summary:

The Construction Field Director will be responsible for overseeing construction activities at current and new data center sites. This role includes setting up and managing programs for (APLD), ensuring high standards in site logistics, mentoring field crews, and implementing quality and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with General Contractors (GCs) and the (DCD) Data Center Development on site team to establish and maintain best practices in site logistics.
  • Develop strategies for efficient workflow management and on-site coordination to optimize project timelines and reduce costs.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to owner Data Center Development field crews, enhancing their skills and knowledge in construction best practices and safety standards.
  • Guide General Contractors on effective workflow management and assist with the management and execution of P6 project schedules.
  • Work with APLD Field Management to develop and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure all construction activities meet the company’s high standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with security teams to address any security challenges and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Serve as a liaison between various stakeholders, including GCs, field crews, and corporate teams, to facilitate clear communication and efficient problem-solving.
  • Work with APLD Field Management to prepare and present regular reports on project status, challenges, and
  • Identify potential risks related to site conditions, construction activities, or external factors, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Work along side with EH&S to perform regular risk assessments and ensure that all team members are aware of and prepared for potential risks.
  • Work with APLD Field Management to ensure the performance of contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contracts, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Work with APLD Field Management to facilitate regular meetings with contractors and vendors to address any performance issues, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Work with APLD Field Management to ensure that all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Work with APLD and GC to ensure we secure necessary permits and inspections for ongoing and future projects.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communication to ensure transparency and alignment with project objectives.
  • Implement sustainability practices to minimize the environmental impact of construction activities, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and the use of sustainable materials.
  • Collaborate with environmental consultants to conduct assessments and ensure compliance with environmental policies and standards.
  • Work with APLD Field Management and GC to ensure comprehensive documentation of all construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and quality control records.
  • Work with APLD Field Management and GC to maintain up-to-date records and provide regular status reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements.
