Job Summary
This position will assist the Cultural and Linguistic Services Manager with providing expert written translation services for all member materials, ad-hoc requests, and other related projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in translating documents, communications, and content from English into Spanish, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance. This role requires the ability to handle a diverse range of materials and requests with precision. The candidate must be assessed for competency in written Spanish translation and demonstrate a high level of proficiency, attention to detail, and an understanding of the nuances of both languages. The Translation Services Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments under the direction of the Cultural & Linguistic Services Manager to ensure that all materials are effectively communicated to Spanish-speaking members.
Bi-lingual written and verbal language proficiency in Spanish is mandatory. The incumbent must be a positive member contributing to the successful and cohesive department team, the ability to work effectively under pressure, independent with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities and assume special projects over and above assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Cultural and Language Access

High-Quality Translation: Provide accurate and culturally appropriate translations in Spanish of all written materials, ensuring the message is conveyed effectively for Spanish-speaking and reading audiences.

Timeliness: Complete all translation tasks within agreed-upon deadlines, ensuring that ad-hoc requests and ongoing projects are delivered in a timely manner.

Consistency: Maintain consistency in language style, tone, and terminology across all translated materials to ensure uniformity.

Quality Control: Proofread and review translated materials for accuracy, grammar, and clarity, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural awareness and ensure that translations are relevant and appropriate for the target Spanish-speaking audience.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to understand project requirements, clarify terms, and ensure accurate translations.

Competency Assessment: Be assessed for proficiency in written Spanish translation to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and expertise.

Confidentiality: Adhere to confidentiality protocols when handling sensitive or proprietary information.

Adaptability: Handle various types of written content, including but not limited to technical documents, marketing materials, and member communications, with flexibility and precision

Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relations with internal health plan staff
