Central Coast Salary Range: 76,466 - $110,875

Job Summary

 

This position supports the department manager with vendor relations activities for non-provider administrative service vendors.

  1. Provides thorough oversight of all non-provider administrative service vendors, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and budgetary alignments are maintained.

  2. Collaborates with CenCal Health’s department owners, to develop, refine, and maintain services and relationships between the vendor and the department owner.

  3. Continually scans the external environment to identify opportunities to improve processes and contract standards and terms to ensure the maximization of CenCal Health's needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Provides thorough oversight of all non-provider administrative service vendors, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and budgetary alignments are maintained, with duties including but not limited to:

  • Ensures positive, productive and compliant working relationships with all non-provider administrative service contracted vendors.

  • Supervises non-provider administrative vendor onboarding and offboarding.

  • Facilitates non-provider administrative vendor performance reviews.

  • Coordinates reporting of vendor trends, insights and overall health of the relationships.

  • Collaborates with Accounting to assure invoicing and payments occur in accordance with the terms of each contract.

  • Works with team to identify and escalate vendor issues to department leadership.

2. Collaborates with CenCal Health’s department owners, to develop, refine, and maintain services and relationships between vendors and CenCal Health departments, with duties including but not limited to:

  • Ensures collaboration with internal teams to identify vendor needs and optimize service/product delivery.

  • Facilitates department education to CenCal Health’s leadership team on vendor-specific updates and developments pertinent to business operations and strategic goals.

  • When required, coordinates Vendor Relations staff to assist with Request for Proposals (RFP) and efforts for external products and services sourcing.

  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to vendor management.

3. Continually scans the external environment to identify opportunities to improve processes and contract standards and terms to ensure the maximization of CenCal Health's needs, with duties including but not limited to:

  • Engages with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and aligns actions and processes to maximize program impact and efficacy and eliminate waste.

  • Leads or participates in vendor-related projects/initiatives.

4. Supervises ongoing market analysis and recommends sourcing strategies for non-provider administrative vendors.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Preference towards demonstrated experience managing vendors for Medi-Cal Managed Care health plans, government or nonprofit organizations, or healthcare organizations

  • Experience effectively supervising staff and leading a team through several projects

  • Strong listening and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Management, and or other related fields

    • A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required

    • Five (5) years of relevant experience is acceptable instead of a bachelor’s degree

  • Two (2) years of experience in contracting or vendor relations is required.
