Essential Functions
- Cleans, sanitizes, disinfects and deodorizes restrooms using the proper chemicals.
- Polishes and cleans hardware.
- Replaces toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap when necessary.
- Uses power and manual equipment to clean and maintain various types of flooring, such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, wood, etc.
- Empties heavy loads of trash from designated areas, such as restrooms, concourses, and other terminal areas.
- Cleans spills or waste on carpeting and hard surfaces.
- Reports any needed repairs to the Facilities Lead Attendant or Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) as needed.
- Cleans gate areas, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) areas, JAA, Administration Facilities, and off-site facilities, such as Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Air Cargo.
- Assists in Handling Baggage Systems (HBS) when needed.
- Picks up or delivers supplies, parts, and equipment, as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of standard tools, materials, and procedures used in custodial work.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with custodial work.
- Ability to read and understand warning labels on solvent chemicals.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make minors repairs to cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical labor and duties and associated with custodial tasks.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to physically move and lift cleaning equipment and furniture.
- Ability to care for and operate various types of power and manual equipment used for cleaning , such as vacuums, ride-on or walk-behind scrubbers, floor polishers, floor waxers, accessories, etc.
- Must possess a positive attitude, be focused on customer service, and be able to work well with others in a team environment.
Required Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or its equivalent; and
- One (1) year of custodial work experience.
Licenses & Certifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
- Florida Class E Driver’s License may be required and must be maintained.
Physical Demands
The physical demands consist of moving from one work location to another, standing for extended periods of time and may involve lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
