Position: Summer Camp Lead Instructor
Hours/schedule: Half-day/8:30-12:30, 20 hrs/week – or – Full-day/8:30-3:30, 32.5 hrs/week
Must attend orientation and training sessions; must be available to work a minimum of one full week.
Rate: $18.29-$25.03/hr DOE

DESCRIPTION:
Summer Camp Lead Instructors are responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of the summer camp program for young children in a classroom/playground environment. We offer morning half-day camps for children ages 2 ½ - 3 and full-day camps for children ages 3-5.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and implements camp programs for children ages 2 ½ - 5 in accordance with developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.
- Works with Summer Camp Program Manager to plan theme-based lessons and activities.
- Attends organization onboarding processes and required trainings.
- Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
- Supervises campers and ensures their safety and general well-being, including administering basic first aid when needed.
- Supervises camp assistants.
- Maintains a schedule of activities for camp participants, while remaining flexible as needed.
- Organizes and supervises various group activities.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the site.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Maintains awareness of campers’ dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that appropriate snacks are distributed to them.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing where your campers and camp assistants are at all times.
- Maintains constant surveillance of the pool/body of water areas, if applicable.
