Job Details: 

SmartStart Education seeks an Intervention Specialist to work with small groups of middle school students at a school located in Cleveland, OH. The position begins on September 22, 2025 and ends on February 17, 2026. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, from 8am until 3pm. 

• In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

• Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field is mandatory. ***Please note that applications with anticipated graduation dates will not be considered.  

• Demonstrated experience of at least one year in teaching or tutoring, either within a school environment or another educational setting.  

• Comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, encompassing racial disparity, socio-economic disparity, and cultural disparity.  

• Mastery of middle school ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies concepts and skills, substantiating proficiency in the subject matter.  

• Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students.  

• Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules.  

• Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties.  

• Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.

Pay Range: $30.60 to 33.66 per hour paid out at a daily rate.
