Qualifications

ABOUT THE JOB

The SilverSone Hospice aides provide palliative care to terminally ill patients. Duties highlighted include administering medication, maintaining care records, assisting with ambulation and exercise, serving meals, and changing bed linens. Those interested in a Hospice Aide position should be able to demonstrate the following skills throughout their resumes and experience: personal care expertise, bedside manners, stamina, being able to cope with distressing situations, emotional stability, and record-keeping.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Licensure

Graduate of an accredited CNA training program and licensed in the State of Texas as a CNA.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum two years experience as a CNA obtained within the last 36 months.
  • One year of hospice CNA experience preferred.
  • CNA skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Must be willing and available take weekend shifts in rotation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrates proven decision-making skills.
  • Able to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Knowledge of Home Care Home Base EMR Systems.

Transportation

Current State Driver’s License. Reliable personal transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Works in patient home and skilled nursing facilities in various conditions; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding counties;

Physical and Mental Effort

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, to transfer and move patients. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines of patient needs and charting guidelines. Quick decision making and resource acquisition skills. Ability to meet patient/family individualized supportive service needs and coordinate cohesively with the hospice care team members to best serve our patients and families. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
