What You’ll Do:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Work with leadership to create, manage, and control the budget, financial management, and forecasting activities for the business unit.
- Partner with the EVP and Area Vice Presidents (AVPs) in establishing the budget and strategic priorities to meet the organizational and area short-term and long-term financial objectives.
- Manage financial reporting, providing detailed financial analysis and financial perspective recommendations to EVP and AVPs. Ensures flow down of similar reporting and analytics to the offices.
- Oversee and provide leadership to the business unit financial and administrative operations team, including hiring, performance management and feedback, coaching, encourage professional development, ensuring the team has the tools needed to do their jobs.
- Validation of data, invoices, and outcomes impacting client projects and operational financial reporting.
- Work closely with other Business Unit Business Managers, along with Corporate Accounting and Finance.
- Manage the teams responsible for client invoicing and entry of projects in the accounting system.
- Assist in the development of project pricing particularly on hourly projects requiring audited overhead rates and adherence to contract terms. Work with operational managers to measure, report and manage gross margin on a project level basis.
- Focus on continuous process improvement, making suggestions and implementing agreed upon processes. Promoting processes, standardization, efficiency, and accuracy, that will position operations administrative team to achieve organization and area objectives.
- Track performance metrics and success toward area objectives and based upon analysis, adjusts processes and team.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop forecasts by office for respective Business Unit.
- Performs other functions in support of the Business Unit and EVP and AVPs.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Additional training in business administration and leadership is desirable.
- 2+ years of related finance and/or business management experience is an ideal preparation to be successful in this role.
- Strong business, contracts, operations, and management acumen, including financial analysis, the ability to make decisions, delegate appropriately and propel the work performance of others.
- Inspirational and motivational leadership skills, including professional development coaching and counseling, proper empowerment of others to act, developing a service and team focused culture amongst reports.
- Ability to take ownership and hold others responsible.
