Position Summary:

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for conducting, overseeing, and ensuring the airworthiness of a GJP Managed BBJ. This role requires deep technical expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company safety protocols. The Manager works closely with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance tasks, inspections, and aircraft servicing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Aircraft Maintenance: Perform and document both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurization systems, accessories, and other critical components. Ensure that maintenance tasks adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspections: Conduct detailed inspections using precision instruments to measure parts for wear, damage, and compliance with operational standards. Ensure compliance with tool calibration and communicate inspection results with the maintenance control team.
  • AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Support: Respond to aircraft-on-ground situations, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with external vendors to return aircraft to operational status. Travel to airport locations as needed, with an estimated travel requirement of up to 15%.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, including hazardous waste management, and federal, state, and local environmental guidelines.
  • Technical Coordination: Collaborate with the maintenance control team to ensure the smooth release of aircraft after maintenance or repair work. Support Owner Services Representatives during passenger greets for scheduled departures.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and parts usage. Assist in receiving inspections for incoming parts and components.
  • Travel for Test Flights: Occasionally travel on owner aircraft for test flights, troubleshooting, or at the owner's request.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in safety, security, and quality by adhering to the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and reporting any observations or recommendations.

Qualifications

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required. Passport required for international travel.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant aviation maintenance experience, with a strong focus on Boeing Business Jet aircraft or equivalent models.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and components.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Ability to operate and taxi aircraft as needed.
    • High proficiency in compliance with FAA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work on lift platforms up to 40 feet in the air.
    • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs.
    • Capable of lifting machine parts up to 70 pounds and maneuvering up to 125 pounds with assistance.

This is an exempt position which requires flexibility to meet the demands of business.
