Timekeeper/HR Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Basin Disposal, located in Pasco, Washington, is looking for a dynamic, full time, Timekeeper/ HR Assistant to join their HR Team. The individual will work Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. This is a non-exempt position and their duties and functions will be defined under the HR Directors supervision. The job functions and duties of the position include the following.
Major Job Duties/Functions:
Timekeeper:
Serve as the first line of contact for timekeeping and payroll related questions.
Oversee the timekeeping functions including processing leaves, employee changes, fixing processing errors, distributing checks, and communicating with all levels of employees as necessary.
Daily and weekly reviews employees’ timecards to ensure time is recorded accurately and complete and work with employees and managers to address timekeeping questions in a timely manner.
Maintain the HRIS system (Paycom) with accurate personnel information.
Record employee payroll information such as exemptions, transfers, status changes and resignation to maintain and update payroll records.
Review employee absence records to ensure absences are administered correctly.
Conduct verifications of employment, garnishments, etc. in accordance with company policy.
Assist with audits to ensure HRIS accuracy.
Ensure timekeeping records are stored securely and confidential.
Administration and Compliance:
Review, track, and document mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
Maintain accurate employee records and up-to-date HR personnel files, driver files, medical files, confidential files, L&I, and pertaining documentation ensuring completion and accuracy of details.
Files various HR documents into the correct physical location and manage file retention and add files to filing index for retrieval.
Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, performance evaluation reminders, including resignations, terminations, transfers and leaves of absence.
Perform audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Enter and maintain employee CDL certifications and medical card in driver files and HRIS.
Submit driver abstract application to DOL and updates route manager of any new driver incidents reported.
Prepares and coordinates the Driver Infractions process and notebook.
Monitor and communicate CDL and medical card expiration dates and submit Driver Abstract when updated.
Process and coordinate monthly random drug tests to ensure compliance.
Employee Engagement & Special Events
Oversee the planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, retirement celebrations and driver events.
Assist with other events such as benefits enrollment and new hire orientation.
Other
Coordinates new employee kits for onboarding and offboarding.
Manage communication for the HR department.
Policy distribution and tracking of signed returned documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: From $25.25 - $29.36

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Timekeeping experience
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Paycom preferred
- Accounting or Business-related degree preferred
- Work well under pressure
- Highly organized with outstanding communication skills
- Working knowledge or MS Office, with proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Teams
