ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including the following. Other duties as assigned.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate any apprehension.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved clinical techniques.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient’s conditions, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents reported by the patient.
- Takes pulse, blood pressure, weight and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assesses condition of patient, and records findings within EMR.
- Ensures all needed information for assessment of patient is available to physician.
- Responsible for life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Initiates a patient education plan according to the needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician, including patient and family instruction.
- Schedules diagnostic and invasive procedures when ordered by the physician.
- Schedule all patients’ procedures and tests outside of the office.
- Answers all calls from other doctor’s offices and schedules procedures outside of the office.
- Answers all patient calls in reference to test, results, medications and/or any patient concerns about health within the same day.
- Travels to satellite offices as needed
- Maintains confidentiality while working with patient’s insurance companies on a daily basis
- Must have good working knowledge of all other office duties
