Horizon Rehabilitation Hospital of McKinney is an innovative, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered healthcare services to our community. As a new in-patient rehab hospital, we are committed to setting new standards in patient care and rehabilitation. We value compassion, excellence, and teamwork, and we are looking for an experienced Hospital Maintenance Tech to join our team.  

Job Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations, and established policies and procedures. This position will assist with general repairs as needed and perform preventive maintenance according to the prescribed schedule.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience ensuring compliance with strict safety regulations, participating in OSHA and Joint Commission inspections or investigations, and supporting the hospital's environment of care and safety standards.

This position may also be assigned security responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain and repair facility systems, equipment, and fixtures according to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, Joint Commission regulations, and all hospital safety protocols.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, and OSHA investigations, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and emergency power.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with hospital policies.

What We Are Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local building and safety codes, including OSHA compliance.
• Minimum one (1) year of maintenance experience working in hospital setting.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance routines on facility equipment and systems.
• Ability to diagnose and perform repairs on facility infrastructure, including walls, doors, fixtures, and ground.
• Ability to project a professional image.
