Position Summary
The CNC Spindle Repair Technician is responsible for the mechanical disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of high-speed spindles used in CNC equipment. This position includes hands-on machining (lathe and grinding), problem-solving, documentation, and occasional travel. The technician plays a key role in ensuring spindles meet factory standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
•    Rebuild warranty and non-warranty spindles to meet promised delivery schedules.
•    Follow established rebuild procedures and reliability testing protocols to ensure spindle performance matches factory standards.
•    Perform precision machining using manual lathe and grinder to adjust or fabricate spindle components.
•    Independently diagnose faults using test equipment and functional knowledge of spindle systems.
•    Use blueprints, manuals, and diagrams to guide disassembly, repair, and reassembly of spindle units.
•    Plan and initiate corrective actions to resolve recurring defects or performance issues.
•    Coordinate repairs and updates with engineering, customer service, and technical teams.
•    Maintain accurate documentation using computer software for tracking repairs, updates, and communication with customers.
•    Travel on short notice for field service jobs, which may include overnight or weekend stays.
•    Properly rig and handle industrial equipment during installations, modifications, or repairs.
•    Operate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
•    Support spindle rebuild sales through technical support and communication.
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or systems engineering preferred, or equivalent hands-on work experience.
•    Minimum 2 years of experience with CNC spindle repair, industrial maintenance, or precision mechanical work.
•    Experience with CNC machine operations and basic G-code programming is a strong asset.
•    Proficient in the use of micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, and dynamic balancing equipment.
•    Strong computer literacy; capable of writing reports and communicating via email and technical software.
•    Ability to travel as needed for emergency field repairs and installations.
•    Strong attention to detail, documentation, and quality control.
Working Conditions
•    Indoor, climate-controlled spindle rebuild facility.
•    Use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
•    Lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods may be required.
•    Occasional travel for on-site support or field repairs.
