The Seasonal Event Coordinator will provide hands-on support for Merry Madison Christmas events throughout the holiday season. This temporary, seasonal position helps create a safe, welcoming, and festive environment for residents and visitors by assisting with event setup, operations, volunteer coordination, and guest engagement.

The Seasonal Event Coordinator is expected to perform the following essential functions:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Merry Madison activities such as the ice-skating rink, tree decorating contest, tree lighting ceremony, Polar Express experience, and other scheduled holiday events.
- Greet and engage event attendees, providing friendly and helpful customer service.
- Support event setup, decorating, and cleanup, including outdoor and indoor displays.
- Provide guidance or direction to volunteers as needed and communicate any concerns or needs to supervisors.
- Monitor event areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and smooth operation.
- Operate or assist with basic event equipment or attractions (e.g., skate rentals, ticket/check-in stations).
- Help coordinate volunteers and communicate needs or issues to supervisors.
- Be available to work during Merry Madison Christmas Hours, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support successful event operations.

Must be available for flexible scheduling throughout the holiday season.
Prior experience in events, customer service, or recreation is helpful but not required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to model professionalism, reliability, and positive workplace conduct.
Basic computer literacy required; comfort with Microsoft Office, email, and job application platforms a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 25–40 pounds (such as decorations, supplies, skates, or signage).
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments that may include cold temperatures, snow, or light rain.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and light physical activity associated with event setup and tear-down.
- May be required to wear appropriate winter or safety gear as needed for specific event duties.
- Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) while performing agricultural and market duties.
- Ability to operate basic tools and equipment related to agricultural production and market operations.
- Frequent interaction with customers, trainees, and community members requiring verbal communication and active engagement.
- Some travel may be required between BMH facilities and to other functions or vendor sites.
