Young Harris College invites applications for the position of User Support Specialist. The User Support Specialist works within a customer focused team environment to deliver exceptional service and support to the college community. The ideal candidate will possess technology skills in the following areas: desktop/laptop computers, software, printers/copiers, projectors and sound systems. Responsibilities will include installation and maintenance of all technology enhanced classrooms, access control software, setup and teardown of audio-visual equipment for events, diagnoses of end-user technical issues in the areas of applications, operating systems, hardware, network connectivity and printers. Since technology plays a key role in the overall operation of the College, this position will require occasional work beyond normal business hours and on call availability for situations that require immediate attention. In this position, this person must be a results-driven individual with business acumen, have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, excellent prioritization and time management skills.
An Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems or Business Management is required with 3+ years of experience in providing technology and audio-visual support. In lieu of an Associate Degree, 5+ years of experience will be considered. Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with people in a variety of situations. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Selected candidate must successfully pass a background check.
