The Director of Student Disability Services is a member of the Student Development Division, but must communicate and collaborate with multiple entities on campus including, but not limited to: Academic Affairs, Facilities, Dining Services, Information Technology, , Student Counseling, and Residence Life in order to assist students with appropriate support and accommodations. The position requires an innovative, student-focused and mission-driven individual to serve in this role. The Director works to enhances programs and services for students with disabilities in accordance with all applicable laws and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The Director will focus primarily on assisting students who are registered or desire to register with the Office of Disability Services.

Primary Duties

  1. Provide broad support and assist in the planning, and execution of support efforts for students with disabilities.
  2. Ensure compliance with federal laws and work with students with known disabilities to ensure holistic learning and overall success
  3. Develop and/or review individual accommodation plans that meet federal requirements and support student success
  4. Provide case management services for students with disabilities, including confidential and accurate records
  5. Act as the primary contact for faculty, staff, parents, students, and other stakeholders on questions regarding student accommodations
  6. Provide recommendations to the institution regarding accessibility to educational programs and services
  7. Provide educational opportunities for students and employees to bring awareness of living with a disability
  8. Serve on institutional committees
  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 10 years of related experienced in a minimum requirement Preferred experience: Master’s degree in Social Work, Disability Services and programs, or other related field. Experience in disability services or case management in an educational setting is highly desirable. Licensure in Clinical Social Work, LPC not required, but desirable
