Position Overview
OrthoMed Anesthesia is seeking a dedicated NSA (No Surprises Act) Appeals Specialist to join the growing billing team. This role is crucial in managing appeals related to the No Surprises Act and ensuring compliance with its regulations. This is a full-time position based at our corporate office in Addison, TX, reporting to the VP of Revenue. The role requires on-site presence during regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle appeals related to the No Surprises Act for anesthesia services
- Review and analyze claim denials to determine appropriate appeal strategies
- Prepare and submit appeal letters with supporting documentation
- Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing disputes
- Stay updated on NSA regulations and other relevant healthcare billing laws
- Maintain accurate records of appeal processes and outcomes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in anesthesia billing
- Strong knowledge of the No Surprises Act and its implications on medical billing
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anesthesia coding (CPT, ICD-10)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office
