Description

OrthoMed Anesthesia is seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Credentialing Team Lead to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring our healthcare providers are properly credentialed, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

 

Position Overview

The Healthcare Credentialing Team Lead oversees and manages a team of credentialing specialists while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. This role combines hands-on credentialing expertise with leadership responsibilities to drive team performance and operational excellence. This position is based at our corporate office in Addison, TX, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations. The role requires on-site presence during regular business hours.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop credentialing specialists; conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching to ensure team effectiveness
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement credentialing policies, procedures, and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Quality Assurance: Review complex credentialing cases, ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory and accrediting institutions
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with medical staff, administrators, and external organizations on credentialing matters while maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline credentialing processes, resolve discrepancies and time delays, and implement best practices for provider onboarding
  • Record Management: Oversee accurate maintenance of provider expirables (medical licenses, DEA, malpractice, etc.) and ensure timely recredentialing processes
  • Training and Development: Advise staff on renewal procedures and participate in the development of internal credentialing processes

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of healthcare credentialing experience with 2+ years in supervisory role; strong background in provider credentialing processes
  • Professional certification (CPCS, CPMSM, or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, policies, laws and procedures related to healthcare credentialing
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with proven ability to manage deadlines and multitask effectively
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities with flexibility to adapt in a growing work environment
