Position Overview

OrthoMed Anesthesia is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist – NSA to join our corporate billing team in Addison, TX. This position plays a critical role in the revenue cycle by managing outstanding claims, patient balances, and payer interactions related to the No Surprises Act (NSA). The role requires a strong background in healthcare billing, payer communication, and denial resolution to ensure timely reimbursement and minimize accounts receivable days. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Addison corporate office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify unpaid or underpaid claims
  • Communicate with payers, Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) entities, and internal teams regarding claim status and follow-up requirements
  • Monitor and track NSA-related accounts receivable activity to ensure prompt resolution
  • Prepare and escalate requests when IDR determinations are not followed by timely payment
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all correspondence, claim activity, and case outcomes
  • Remain up to date on NSA regulations and other applicable healthcare billing compliance requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience (anesthesia billing strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and anesthesia billing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze claims, resolve denials, and manage escalations effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and confident demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the No Surprises Act and the IDR/Arbitration process
