Description

POSITION OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a friendly and professional response to persons experiencing emergent or urgent psychiatric or personal issues and responding to them in-person/on-site as safely appropriate and necessary.
  • To collaborate and coordinate with local law enforcement/EMS/hospital emergency departments as appropriate and necessary to coordinate care and ensure a safe environment for the patient and staff providing mental health support and assessment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education:   Bachelor’s degree in related field of behavioral health sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum Experience:  Demonstrated skills in the provision of case management
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Must have good listening skills, verbal skills, and written communication skills
  • Must be able to observe patient demeanor and non-verbal communication for assessment purposes
  • Must be able and willing to have flexibility in scheduling, working nights and weekends to meet patient, community and organization needs
  • Must maintain Kansas State licensure and appropriate CEU’s where applicable
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with referral sources and external care providers
  • Must have ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults and their families
  • Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license and be insurable through Prairie View insurance company.
  • Must be able to pass physical restraining program.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel to do physical activities with children
  • Must be proficient at basic keyboarding/word-processing skills
  • Must be able to pass Kansas Bureau of Investigation Screen, Central Registry Screen, and DCF (Kansas Dept. for Children & Families, formerly SRS) background check
