PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced chemical plant environment, safely and effectively multitasking while adapting to a constantly changing workday where priorities can change frequently
• Load, unload and package hazardous chemicals into tank trucks, totes, drums and railcars while maintaining chemical inventory accuracy and compliance with federal, state and local regulations
• Utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the loading and unloading in safe and efficient manner while ensuring proper labeling, placarding, and documentation for all shipments
• Process line ups for the equipment to provide accurate transfer of products and raw materials using pumps, hoses, valves, meters, and transfer systems safely and accurately
• Store materials properly in designated locations and ensure that they are labeled correctly
• Perform daily equipment checks such as forklift, yard mule, scrubber, etc. and other various housekeeping activities
• Verify shipment contents against documentation (e.g., shipping labels, paperwork)
• Operate and monitor automated and manually operated chemical process equipment
• Move/transfer chemicals and equipment throughout the facility both manually and with the aid of powered and automated equipment; operate yard mule and forklift
• Obtain quality control samples of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products for quality control laboratory analysis
• Retain knowledge of basic chemistry, arithmetic operations, and chemical hazards to apply this knowledge in daily work activities
• Understand the hazards and risks associated with maintenance and repair activities in a chemical manufacturing facility; support the site HSE policy and comply with all regulatory and internal requirements
• Understand plant environmental health and safety regulations and comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements
• Wear appropriate PPE (e.g., respirators, chemical suits, eye protection, ear protection) and follow all safety protocols while having to endure various weather conditions
• Exhibit the importance of maintaining quality work in all production-related activities, and keep accurate monitoring reports/logs and documentation of process events
• Make independent judgments concerning assigned tasks, considering safety and environmental concerns; discern situations where supervisory/management input is advisable
• Participate in HSE activities provided by site management (e.g., Safety Process, etc.)
• Support and promote the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
• Effectively carry out verbal and written instructions, including the direction of the shift leaders/supervisors
• Other duties as assigned

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
• This position requires working on rotating shifts (24/7 operations) at the discretion of supervisory and management personnel
• This position may periodically require overtime or a modified schedule to ensure that production needs are met
• Work is primarily performed outside during all seasons
• No travel is required, except for training purposes
• This position requires the ability to lift 55 pounds regularly, hoisting, and frequent walking and climbing stairs and ladders
• PPE, or personal protective equipment (e.g., respirators, supplied air, aprons, rubber boots, rubber gloves, chemical resistant clothing, hard hats, safety eyewear, etc.) that may be required will increase the level of physical stress experienced by workers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years’ manufacturing experience, preferred in chemical manufacturing
• Basic computer literacy, including email and data entry is required
• Experience with automated processing systems is preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift is required
• The work is performed in an outdoor chemical processing facility
