Registered Dental Assistant

• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.

RESPONSIBLITIES: The Registered Dental Assistant will report directly to the Dentist. S/he will be responsible for mouth mirror inspection of oral cavities, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations and missing teeth. Placement and removal of temporary sedative dressings; assisting the dentist; teaching patients how to care for their teeth; communicating effectively with patients (or parents if patient is a child); maintaining equipment and inventory; cleaning sterilizing; and packaging instruments; following universal precautions, OSHA requirements, and dental board auxiliaries regulations; and coronal polishing and other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Duties: A Registered Dental Assistant performs the below job duties only if stated in his/her Dental Board of California License and under the supervision and direction of the Dentist.

• Sealant
• Ultrasonic

For a Lead RDA: S/he will be responsible for the supervision of other DA and RDA. The Lead RDA will participate in QA/QI and QM meetings.

REQUIREMENTS: CPR and First AID certification required. S/he must have the ability to perform skillfully and effectively the duties of a Registered Dental Assistant. Work effectively with individuals and follow oral and written directions. Must be willing to support own team members to accomplish daily activities. Mature judgment, tact, discretion and confidentiality are mandatory. Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must submit to and pass a drug test, fitness for duty and a criminal background check as a pre-condition for employment. Must be able to provide proof of vaccinations for COVID-19 with Booster, MMR, TDAP, and Hepatitis B. Must provide a recent TB test.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an Accredited Dental Assisting school, and at least two (2) years recent experience as a Registered Dental Assistant. Must have a valid California Registered Dental Assistant license and RDA Certification required. Current Radiographic Certification required.
