Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Core Banking Operations Specialist to support and maintain the core banking system and ensure seamless day-to-day banking operations. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of all core banking processes, including transaction processing, system configuration, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and manage daily core banking operations, including transaction processing, account maintenance, and system reconciliations.
  • Provide first-line support for core banking system issues and escalate complex problems to the appropriate teams.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to implement system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Perform system configuration, parameter updates, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all core banking modules.
  • Generate and analyze operational reports to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization/automation.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and system access.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of core banking systems, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of new features, upgrades, and patches.
  • Train and support end-users on system functionality and operational procedures.

Preferred Education, Experience, Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in banking operations preferred with exposure to core banking systems desired (e.g., Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, or similar).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with system migrations or core banking system implementations.
  • Familiarity with digital banking platforms and APIs.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data privacy standards in banking.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDIC, FFIEC)
