Description

The Universal Banker plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while handling a wide range of banking responsibilities. This position combines traditional teller duties with sales and advisory functions, ensuring that customers receive personalized financial solutions. The Universal Banker is responsible for processing transactions, assisting customers with account management, identifying sales opportunities, and promoting the bank’s products and services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Operate as a multi-functional team member assisting customers with a wide range of banking needs, including processing transactions, opening new accounts, account maintenance, and consult in an advisory role to maximize the sales potential of every interaction.
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience by consistently executing the bank’s service standards.
  • Drive proactive financial guidance conversations through internal interactions including teller and platform interactions, outbound calling, and service to sales, ultimately elevating customer loyalty.
  • Seek to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships, and contribute to the financial growth of the branch.
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers to mortgage, treasury services, or lending specialists.
  • Resolve customer concerns in a timely, professional, and positive manner, escalating issues, as needed.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing procedures, ensuring security and operational readiness.

Balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies.

  • Support branch operations by assisting in daily tasks and providing backup support as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with bank partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
  • Participate in continuous learning to gain knowledge of bank processes, policies, software, terminology, and rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail, or banking preferred.
  • Experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships.

Skills:

  • Strong cash handling, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to quickly learn banking software.
