The Community Engagement Manager leads community engagement outreach efforts to build, maintain, ang grow professional relationships with community-based organizations. The Community Engagement Manager works collaboratively to identify, evaluate, and respond to community need based on geographic proximity, interest, desired needs, or organizational goals to support NFP’s integrated care services.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following description is a general representation of the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Manage the community engagement team and organizational community engagement and outreach efforts that align with organizational priorities. Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community engagement events, programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations and other community outreach to increase new patients and engagement with existing patients through community events.
  • Assist Marketing and Communications to sustain relationships and communication with community organizations and partners and serve as point of contact between NFP and external stakeholder groups.
  • Represent NFP on various boards, committees, coalitions, or initiatives to align with and support NFP’s mission and organizational priorities with approval from designated senior leader. Participate in formal and informal stakeholder convenings to inform care delivery services, engagement, and outreach efforts based on community voice..
  • Assist patients and staff in identifying community resources to improve access to care, coverage, health and social services.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications and Population Health to develop health and educational resource materials for local community-based groups. Collaborate with Vice President of Development regarding advocacy strategy for internal and external campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Licensure, Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Community outreach and organizing experience strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge and awareness of community organizations, social services, and other resources within NFP’s service area.
  • Understanding of Cleveland’s community development and governmental services landscape.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and the public, including with those from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and training skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management programs.
  • Ability to speak secondary language preferred.

 

Essential Physical Demands and Working Environment:

 

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, including through the use of electronic communication devices.
  • Able to travel locally and regionally required. Valid driver’s license and active automobile insurance required.
  • Able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
