šŸ§‘ā€šŸ³ Position Summary

Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food and beverages for students and maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment.

May provide supervision and training to Job Corps Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.


šŸ“ Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of quality food

  • Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with students

  • Perform kitchen clean-up, washing dishes, and sanitizing food prep areas

  • Transport finished meals to the serving line and keep serving counters stocked

  • Produce quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner

  • Maintain attendance, accountability, and productivity standards

  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet goals and deadlines

  • Apply job knowledge to effectively complete responsibilities and maintain skills proactively

  • Mentor, monitor, and model Career Success Standards for students

  • Provide high-quality supervision, taking swift action to influence student behavior positively

  • Ensure quality services are maintained and student needs are met

  • Communicate clearly and contribute to team efforts; provide timely information to DOL/Company

  • Identify problems, evaluate solutions, and follow up to ensure resolution

  • Collaborate with staff from all departments to ensure effective student supervision and services

  • Accept direction from the Center Director, Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including temporary assignments in other departments

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer previous experience in food service. Must be able to obtain ServSafe credentials. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
