The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a Medical Assistant for our Integrated Health Center. This Medical Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, will provide customer service while coordinating services provided in the Integrated Health Center.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Serve as the primary contact for the facilitation of client service-related issues within the Integrated Health Center.
  • Room patients, complete vitals, and gather all needed medical information for provider’s examination.
  • Perform ordered procedures such as spirometry, EKG’s, blood glucose testing, hemoglobin A1 lipid panel and urinalysis.
  • Call prescription information into pharmacies and problem solve pharmacy-related issues.
  • Contact emergency services as directed.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, e.g., copying, faxing, shredding.
  • Assist in medication handling processes.
  • Document all patient care in electronic record and maintain current clinical records in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Re-stock rooms with needed medical supplies.
  • Assists with prior-authorizations for clients’ specialty referrals and medication.
  • Provide referral and scheduling information regarding primary care services available on site and in the community.
  • Observe all rules of confidentiality as it relates to clinical information, both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and/or agencies.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable about rights of individuals served and the procedures governing them.
  • This position is full-time (40 hours a week) working normal business hours.

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Completion of formal Medical Training Program required (Certificate, Diploma, Associate’s Degree, CNA, STNA, etc).
  • Clinical training and experience with vital signs, injections, point-of-care lab testing, EKGs, provider assistance, etc. required.
  • Knowledge of integrated health care, client rights, and mental health required.  
  • A deeply held belief in CSS’s recovery-centered mission.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse challenges.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
