We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Accounting to oversee our financial
reporting, compliance, and accounting operations while driving excellence in a dynamic
real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial close processes.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements specific to REITs.
- Ensure compliance with REIT tax regulations, including quarterly distribution requirements and annual compliance testing.
- Manage external audits, internal controls, and SOX compliance processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for corporate and property level financials.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial planning and capital allocation decisions.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and technologies.
- Liaise with land, legal and finance teams to ensure accurate portfolio reporting and performance tracking.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in REIT accounting and finance.
