Position Title:      Accounting Coordinator

Department:        Finance

Reports to:           Controller

FLSA Status:      Non-exempt

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:  Under the direction of the Controller and Senior Accountant, the Accounting Coordinator provides the best possible support to the department and the organization.  Responsibilities include accounts payable, cash disbursements and deposits, payroll processing, and timely month-end close, while ensuring the confidentiality of records and information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Enter A/P Invoices and Cash Disbursements into Accounting Software
  • Record Daily Cash Receipts
  • Assist with Payroll Processing
  • Assist with Month End Entries
  • Primary Contact for A/P and A/R Questions and Concerns
  • Maintain Accounting Files
  • Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  An Associate of Arts degree or equivalent experience is required, preferably in Accounting. Other key attributes include strong interpersonal and communication skills, high-level knowledge of excel, as well as experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Above average math skills required.

REASONING ABILITY: Able to collect data and information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: This position requires attention to detail with a level of accuracy.  In addition, strong excel skills are a must.
