Job Overview:
Under general supervision, leads a Middle School soccer team. The season begins September 2nd and ends October 31st. Practices are held from 430-5:45 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All games are held during the week between the hours of 3:30-6:00 p.m. Coaches are expected to travel with the team to and from campus to all matches.
General Responsibilities:
- Discusses approach to team dynamics with Director of Athletics and After-School Programs and After-School Programs
- Manages player development based on program core competencies
- Works with Director of Athletics and After-School Programs to create practice plans that are skill appropriate
- Teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques, and skills
- Is responsible for the health and safety of the athletes
- Articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy
- Applies developmentally appropriate and age-appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes
- Travels with the team for away games against other local schools
- Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes
- Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators and staff
- Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork
- Attends all meetings and trainings as required by the league and/or Director of Athletics and After-School Programs and After-School Programs
- Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents, including the Coaches Handbook
- Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities; travels with first aid kit at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
