Cottage Assisted Living Manager Responsibilities

Deliver and Promote High-Quality Customer Care

Foster exceptional customer service, hospitality, and a clean environment

Ensure services align with care plans and adapt as resident needs change

Proactively monitor resident needs, adjusting services and supplies accordingly
Lead and Support Staff Performance

Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and supervise team members
-
Ensure adequate staffing, address performance concerns, and manage HR/payroll functions
-
Promote a positive, communicative, and solution-focused team environment
Coordinate Care and Client Services
-
Lead care conferences, communicate with responsible parties, and coordinate delegated nursing tasks

Support residents and families with housing needs, routine concerns, and community integration

Manage move-ins, move-outs, and unit transfers, including inspections and paperwork
Ensure Safe, Clean, and Well-Maintained Environments

Oversee cleanliness of private and common areas
-
Manage maintenance requests, supply inventories, and safety practices
-
Conduct emergency drills in compliance with regulations
Oversee Life Enrichment and Nutritional Services
-
Ensure Life Enrichment activities and caregiver/family engagement events are provided
-
Engage volunteers appropriately and support meaningful, age-appropriate programming
-
Oversee meal service quality, food handling compliance, and dining experience
Collaborate on Marketing and Admissions

Partner with Marketing/Welcome Center to promote the program and facilitate admissions

Conduct tours, intake, follow-ups, and represent the community at events and with referral sources

Support a warm and welcoming transition for new residents
Participate in Leadership and Continuous Improvement

Serve on leadership teams and committees focused on quality, safety, and education

Support Outreach initiatives and strategic planning with leadership

Contribute to budget development and achieving financial goals
Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Professionalism

Maintain knowledge of relevant licensure, funding, and compliance requirements

Assist in policy development and ensure adherence to procedures
