Registered Nurse / RN- Home Care Responsibilities

• Function within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, utilizing recognized standards of clinical practice, as defined by the State of Minnesota
• Direct skilled nursing services utilizing a holistic person-centered approach
• Coordinate therapeutic services for the client in the home environment
• Develop a plan of care
• Consult with physician for approval/modification of the plan of care and incorporate revisions as needed
• Delegate, monitor and deliver resident care
• Ensure accurate charting and documentation is completed on a daily basis
• Conduct care conferences and prepare clinical progress notes
• Work with families and other health care professionals to ensure a continuity of care
• Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate nursing judgments
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all fire, safety and weather procedures
• Document accurate start/stop times, mileage, incident reports and other documentation delegated by Good Shepherd Policies and Procedures

Registered Nurse / RN - Home Care Qualifications

• Must be capable of supervising multiple aspects of client care and individuals providing that care
• Must be a registered nurse currently licensed in the state of Minnesota
• Must have a current Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification
• Must demonstrate leadership skills necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position
• Prefer at least one year RN experience in home care or equivalent experience
• Exhibit professional behavior and attitudes
• Possess good interpersonal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license required
