As a Greater Joliet Area YMCA Volunteer, you can:

• Coach and mentor young athletes in our youth sports leagues, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
• Bring joy and support to children by assisting with engaging activities and creating memorable experiences in our summer day camp programs.
• Provide leadership and guidance by serving on our Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, various Committees, and Branch Advisory Councils, helping to shape the strategic direction of our organization.
• Champion accessibility by raising vital funds that ensure the Y remains open and available to all members of our community, regardless of their financial circumstances.
• Empower the next generation by motivating and supporting teens in our dedicated programs, helping them develop essential character strengths, valuable skills, and healthy relationships that lead to positive choices and the pursuit of their aspirations.
• Give back and connect with your community through participation in meaningful community service projects and events that address local needs.

Who can volunteer?

The YMCA warmly welcomes and deeply appreciates the time of anyone 14 years or older who is eager to contribute.

Your safety and the well-being of our participants are our top priorities. To ensure a positive and enriching environment for everyone, all volunteers are required to complete a background check before participating in any Y program or activity.
