While receiving leadership support from the Mission Team Leader, the Employment Coach will advance our mission by developing and implementing the best coaching strategy for participants to reach their full potential, inspiring and empowering them to retain employment, gain independence, further develop employment abilities, and reach their goals. This role collaborates with the case management team to ensure that all activities are performed consistent with the mission, vision, values, and brand of Goodwill NCW.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with participants with varying abilities in various settings and trains on the job skills. Teaches both job skills and soft skills to meet employment standards. Adjusts approach based on participant needs.
- Identifies participant’s strengths, interests, and needs to determine most suitable training methods and serves as an advocate for participants.
- Communicates with appropriate individuals involved to ensure skills instruction support meets the specific needs of each participant and discusses any urgent concerns, changes in job duties or employer/participant feedback that requires immediate attention.
- Observes participant performance and behavior and completes required documentation within expected timeframe which may include case notes.
- Manages own timecard, mileage, and expense tracking to ensure records are accurate and completed within the expected timeframe.
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with Goodwill NCW team members, participants, families, and employers to ensure consistent support for participants.
- Partners with Case Managers in the creation of job aids to empower participants to reach individualized goals and increase independence.
- Keeps up with industry trends and implements best practice coaching strategies for individuals served to reach their full potential.
- Orients participants at new employment and completes a task analysis report per funding source standards as needed. Ensures participant complies with employer site policies and safety guidelines.
- Participates in accrediting, licensing, and funding audit meetings, as needed.
